Dehon and the Dehonians in the First World War (STD 64)

A new volume is available in the "Studia Dehoniana" series entitled Dehon and the Dehonians in the First World War; it was edited by Fr. Juan José Arnaiz Ecker.

Within the 410 pages of the volume we try to take a look at the Congregation mobilized during the "great massacre" of the First World War. In 2018, tributes and memories were shared for and about those who lost their lives on the battlefield, or who suffered from the war in any way. This book adds  previously unknown details of that time that have been stored in the archives, especially on the 33 Dehonians who found themselves on either side of the conflict. We listen to Father Dehon to try to understand his life in those years, and also that of the Dehonian religious, with the addition of the war correspondence of 24 Dehonians, who, besides telling the horror, open their souls to share the positive and negative experiences that crossed their hearts.

The collective work was published by the Centro Studi Dehoniani (CSD) of Rome; printing and distribution was the responsibility of Wydawnictwo Księży Sercanów Dehon, our publishing house in Kraków.
