POL - Delegates elected and chapter comes to an end

The XII Provincial Chapter of the Polish Province of the Congregation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is coming to an end.

Among the important topics addressed was the selection of delegates to the XXIII General Chapter. Today I would like to introduce to you to our brothers from the Polish Province who were elected.

Screen Shot 2014-11-21 at 6.58.42 PMFr. Artur Sanecki, SCJ, is the provincial superior of the Polish Province. Before he was elected as provincial he was rector of our seminary in Stadniki and had also been a scripture professor at the seminary and at John Paul II University in Krakow.

Fr. Artur was born on December 29, 1965. He took first vows on September 28, 1985 and was ordained on April 28, 1991. I think that Dehonians around the world know him very well. In recent years he visited many countries where he saw the pastoral works of our Dehonian brothers. He speaks Italian, English, German, Spanish and French.
Fr. Dariusz Salamon, SCJ, is provincial vicar of the Polish Province. For many years he was director of the Dehonian Publishing House in Krakow. He was also a formator in the seminary in Sadniki and is fundamental theology professor.

Fr. Darek was born on July 7, 1962. He took first vows on September 25, 1983, and was ordained on June 10, 1989. He loves to work with young people and he takes every opportunity to minister to them. He frequently does youth retreats. During the summer he leads youth hikes in the mountains, and in the winter he is skiing with them. He speaks German and English.

Screen Shot 2014-11-21 at 6.59.47 PMFr. Leszek Poleszak, SCJ, is novice master and superior of the community of the novitiate in Stopnica. He is also a member of the provincial council. Before he was a formator in our seminary in Stadniki he defended his doctorate on the theology of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

He was born October 5, 1971. He professed first vows on September 20, 1992, and was ordained on June 6, 1998. He has been involved in formation for several years and loves helping young people become Dehonians. He speaks Italian and English.

Screen Shot 2014-11-21 at 7.01.01 PMFr. Robert Ptak, SCJ, is
rector of the seminary of the Polish Province in Stadniki. He is also a dogmatic theology professor.  In recent years he was involved in formation work. Prior to formation he worked at the Cardinal Wyszyński University in Warsaw.

Fr. Robert was born September 1, 1967. He made first vows on September 24, 1987 and was ordained on May 22, 1993. His last name translates as “bird” in Polish so sometimes his confreres tease him about this. In Poland we say that Fr. Robert is free like a bird. He speaks Italian, German, English and Spanish.

Today (November 21) we finished XII Provincial Chapter. I would like to say thanks to those who have followed our proceedings on the dehon.it website and on Facebook. I hope that it has helped you to feel closer to our province. Thank you also to Fr. John van den Hengel for his presence at the chapter and Mary Gorski for help in posting these articles. God bless you all!

Fr. Michael Olszewski, SCJ
